You will get a thumbs up from me when you change how getting XP from crafting works. I'm not fine with my XP earned from spending resources being thrown down the drain because I happened to open the UI a second after it finished crafting. I'm not fine with being tethered close to my base for 20 minutes cause I'm smelting 20 ingots. I'm not fine with being expected to hop between several stations like a spazzed out rabbit trying to get my XP for crafting stuff. I'm fine with the books, I'm fine with the trainers. Clay? You know, lumping dirt together? A full stack takes over 3 hours lmao. My bad but everything else is still accurate. Edit: Upon playing the night I posted this, I have determined this was a mistake and it actually takes only 4 seconds per arrow. But no no no my good sir, this game is going for the realistic depiction. Now this wouldn't be a huge problem if the recipes only took like at most 10 seconds for most things you have to repeatedly craft. Nah, you be standing there with that UI open to get that XP. Not like Ark where you get it just for it finishing, not like Minecraft where you get it upon taking the stuff out of the output slot. Cool, I'm fine with this, I don't expect someone to train me if I haven't given them anything.īut crafting XP? Get this crap, you MUST have the station UI open at the time of the item finishing its craft for you to get the XP. You can gain XP from training with traders using your happiness meter as well as influence which is just money. Gotcha, makes sense, I don't want to read when I'm upset too.

You can gain XP from reading books which use up a happiness meter so you can't read when you're not having fun. So why am I not recommending it? Cause the crafting XP system is a hot steaming pile of fermented used diapers. I like the scavenging aspect, how being in the forest makes it so you almost never see a zombie but they are jam packed in town areas, the building mechanics having support requirements.

Combat is passable and its fun to shoot a zombie in the middle of a town and every zombie in the zip code comes at you. Its got its indie game jank that's adorable. Its like a hardcore version of 7 Days to Die mixed with State of Decay which I'm all for.
